Complex door systems from a single source

Vehicle doors

Cleff stands not only for modern window solutions but increasingly for the development of complex door systems. For vehicle doors, system solution means the complete implementation of a door system with frame, seals, lock, door and window mechanisms – “everything from a single source”.

Product solutions

Door types

  • Entrance doors
  • Driver's cab doors – also pressure-tight, with sliding/pivot window
  • Connecting doors
  • Engine room doors
  • Maintenance doors, control cab doors
  • Partition doors, glass doors
  • Crew compartment doors for emergency vehicles
  • Entrance doors for special vehicles (e.g. PistenBully)

Technology explained

Doors as a component of the vehicle

Driver's cab door

What sets a driver's cab door apart?

It separates the driver's workplace from the passenger area or from the outside and usually carries a window itself – as a sliding or hinged window, pressure-tight on request.

Typical application: Rail vehicles from Stadler, the new Berlin underground.

Entrance door

What matters most for entrance doors?

It is operated very frequently in service. Fittings, seal and frame have to withstand those cycles without the door settling or losing its seal.

Typical application: Shunting locomotives, Linsinger rail milling trains.

Machine room door

Why a dedicated machine room door?

It closes off technical areas, has to stay accessible for maintenance and often sits in an environment with vibration, heat and contamination.

Typical application: Siemens Vectron.

Crew and compartment door

What does the operational case demand?

Doors in emergency vehicles are operated under time pressure, often with gloves and in the dark. Handle, latch and stop have to cope with that.

Typical application: Ziegler fire service vehicles, Kässbohrer snow groomers.
